How to dictate
Right testis in three sizes, texture, epididymis, hydrocele, veins and reflux, flow. Then left and the same order. Finish with the scrotal wall and inguinal regions.
What to watch
- The testis triplet is length, width, thickness. Volume uses the Lambert factor 0.71.
- Vein diameter and reflux are two fields: say the number and the words reflux present or none.
- Describe a testicular lesion in one phrase in the texture field: location, size, echogenicity, flow.
- Until you say left, everything belongs to the right side.

Which volume factor is used?
0.71, the Lambert formula. A dictated scanner volume replaces the calculation.
How do I record the varicocele grade?
State the grade in the impression. Vein diameter and reflux go to their rows.
Does it work for children?
The fields are the same, the printed reference volume is for adults. Add age norms in the editor.
Are flow velocities printed?
There are no numeric Doppler fields, but velocities can be dictated into the flow field or added as a row in the editor.
