First trimester ultrasound by voice: CRL, gestational age, NT and the screening report in Word and PDF

How to pick this exam type
Pick Obstetric ultrasound, 1st trimester. After 14 weeks use the separate second and third trimester package.
How to dictate
Gestational sac, yolk sac, CRL, heart rate, then NT and nasal bone, ductus venosus, anatomy, chorion, cervix and adnexa. Say the age the way you always do, twelve weeks three days, the service converts it to decimal weeks.
What to watch
- The age by CRL uses the Robinson formula and is marked as calculated. Say the scanner's age in words to override it.
- NT needs a decimal: one point four. The number 14 will not be placed into NT, it is physiologically impossible.
- Twins: dictate numbers for fetus one and describe fetus two in words with the note fetus two.
- If a heartbeat is present but the rate was not measured, say so: the heart rate field stays empty and the phrase goes to the impression.

Frequently asked questions
Is the chromosomal risk calculated?
No, the risk is calculated by the screening software from blood and ultrasound data. The service records NT, nasal bone and other markers for that software.
How do I report a missed miscarriage?
Dictate CRL and absent heartbeat in words and write the impression yourself. The service decides nothing for the physician.
Is there a field for the last menstrual period?
No, it belongs to the menstrual age which you state in the impression. The age by CRL is calculated.
Can I use the package before 11 weeks?
Yes, the screening fields simply stay empty.
