How to pick this exam type
Pick Kidneys and bladder. If you scan kidneys together with the abdomen, two records work better: the abdominal package has no kidney fields so reports stay compact.
How to dictate
Right kidney, then left, then bladder. Sizes as length by width, parenchyma and pelvis as separate numbers. Then the collecting system, stones, cysts. For the bladder: filling, wall, content, residual urine after voiding.
What to watch
- Describe cysts and stones with location and size in one phrase, they go to the text field of that kidney.
- Parenchyma and pelvis are in millimetres, residual urine in millilitres.
- If a kidney is not visualized or removed, say it in words: the size field receives the text.
- After left or left kidney all numbers belong to the left side until you say bladder.

Two kidney tables with identical rows, a bladder table, reference values for length, parenchyma and wall, the impression. Printed in Word and PDF as a table or text.

No, the scanner does. Say the final number and it goes to the residual urine field.
How do I dictate a duplex or horseshoe kidney?
Describe it in words in the structure section: duplex collecting system on the right. The text is kept intact.
Can I add the prostate?
It has its own package. One record holds one exam type, but custom rows can be added in the editor.
What if I said sizes in centimetres?
The service converts to millimetres. Check the result in the editor if you mixed units.
